GRAPHIC: Splitting Keywords to Multiple Pages vs Consolidation

The gang over at SEOmoz have a great article posted about on-page optimization. While the entire article is well worth a read (and you should), I thought bullet point #4 hit the mark on keyword breakdowns in terms of spinning off separate pages for each keyword or deploying single page keyword consolidation.

From my own personal experience with site architecture design, I know this process can be quite a difficult task to figure out, especially in highly competitive keyword fields such as web development services. Get it right and you can gain a large amount of high quality, targeted traffic – get it wrong and you lose out on all that juicy traffic.

I think Rand’s graphic provides one of the clearest overviews (and maybe even the only one) of this process. Have a look below, it will come in handy the next time you design a site structure:
